Vintage Jewlery

I LOVE vintage style jewelry! I love mixing old era with new modern jewelry to create my own new styles! When I was small, my Grandmother's would let me play in their jewelry boxes for hours! They had jewelry from their great great grandmothers, which is still timeless and classic.  I have found that finding pieces to put into my own personal jewelry making consists largely of the things I used to play with. One of the biggest things for creating vintage style jewelry is patina. Patina is the greenish gunk that accumulates on metals that have been sitting for years. Patina is due to oxidization. You can wipe patina off but to get a true vintage look to your jewelry, you will need to know a few methods for putting it on new pieces of metal.  Below is a link to a site that will teach you patina methods!
